Tips for Preparing Your Home

While we offer professional staging, we also offer declutter consultations where you will learn tricks and tips to make your home as appealing as possible.

Anxious to get started now? If you want to add value to your property in the most efficient and inexpensive manner possible, follow these three steps:

Soap, Water & Magic

Soap and water is cheap, and oh-so-effective. Make sure you remember to thoroughly clean every inch of your home the good old fashioned way!

We recommend purchasing a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (available here). These sponges are great for removing marks from your walls and baseboards. Don’t forget to check your door frames to ensure they don’t have stains and unsightly marks.

While you might not notice these things, prospective buyers will. Don’t let a little dirt devalue your home in their eyes! You want the home to look as shiny and clean as possible.

Fresh Bark

Throw fresh bark on any soil that has no grass or unsightly grass.

This is a cheap way to add a ton of curb appeal to your home quickly and with little effort.

Paint

Few things refresh a home more thoroughly than a fresh coat of paint.

While the mere thought of painting might fill you with fatigue, trust that doing so will provide you with a handsome return on your investment.

This is a great opportunity to neutralize the color of your home. While you love ruby red walls, it’s likely that loud color choices will turn a lot of people away. Stick to white, cream, beige, and light earth tones when painting and decorating your home.
